Cheryl Magoteaux Cody's company, Pro Management, Inc, provides management, advertising, publishing, media and publicity services for some of the giants of the industry. On the event front, Pro Management oversees the production of the National Reining Breeders Classic, the National Reining Horse Association Futurity and Derby, and the Southwest Reining Horse Association Futurity. In 2018, Cheryl managed the Reining at the Tryon World Equestrian Games.

In 2023, Pro Management reining events paid out over $10 million – a record – and that included the two first-ever reining events will payouts exceeding $3 million.

Cody has also handled projects for the American Quarter Horse Association and US Equestrian Team and has coordinated the media for the four largest reining events in the world - the NRHA Futurity, NRHA Derby, National Reining Breeders Classic and the US Equestrian Team Championship Reining - as well as orchestrating the reining demonstrations at the Houston Olympic Media Summit.

Cheryl owns the reining digital newsletter WorldWide Slide, and partners with Tom McCutcheon on Tom McCutcheon’s Virtual Horse Help.

Cheryl was co-owner and President of True South, LLC, which produced the award- winning television program, Wide World of Horses, on RFD-TV which was the network’s highest rated equestrian show during its tenure. She's also a co-owner of M3 Products which produces the Whisper Bit, and of InfoMedia video which produces instructional videos including Speed Williams Team Roping and Tim McQuay Reining videos.

One of the horse industry's most-published writers, Cheryl Cody has written, edited and done photography work for an immense range of publications, including Western Horseman, Horse & Rider, Quarter Horse Journal, USET News, Quarter Horse News, The Reiner, Paint Horse Journal and others, earning national awards and recognition both for photography and writing. She also provided color video commentary for Waltenberry's Reining Video Monthly and Wide World of Horses. The instructional book she wrote with barrel racing great, Charmayne James, has been a best-seller for Western Horseman and she's also authored chapters for several of the "Legends" books and wrote "The Language of Horsemanship" with Reining Hall of Fame inductee Dick Pieper.

Probably the accomplishment of which Cheryl is the most proud is helping found Rein In Cancer, an equine-based 501-C-3 that raises money to help cancer patients in the horse industry. She is president of that corporation and has been instrumental in raising funds at different equine events across the country.

Cody’s background is rich inside the arena as well as outside, as she is a former college horsemanship instructor who is a past Professional Women’s Rodeo Association champion and two-time Divisional Tour champon. A Women’s National Finals Rodeo qualifier, she garnered major team roping and barrel racing event wins before retiring from barrel racing competition. In late-2007 she returned to competition, winning futurities and pro rodeos before again retiring in 2019.

Cheryl and her husband Phillip live on the Cody Ranch near Byars, Oklahoma, and attend St. Lukes Episcopal Church in nearby Ada.
